Everest, 60 years

Hace sesenta años, Edmund Hillary y Tenzing Norgay fueron los primeros escaladores en llegar a la cima del Monte Everest, conocido como Qomolangma en China y Chomolungma en el Tíbet. Su coraje y resistencia han sido un ejemplo para muchos otros aventureros en las siguientes décadas. El desafío de escalar el Everest sigue atrayendo a miles de personas de todos los ámbitos de la vida que quieren esforzarse hasta el límite.

Infografía para conmemorar el 60 aniversario de la subida al Everest. Ya llevo unas cuantas hechas sobre este recurrido tema a lo largo de los últimos años.

Sixty years ago, Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay became the first climbers to reach the summit of Mount Everest, known as Qomolangma in China and Chomolungma in Tibet. Their bavery and resilience set an example for many other adventurers in the following decades. The challenge of scaling Everest still attracts thousands of people from all walks of life who want to push themselves to the limit.

Kowloon Walled City, the city of anarchy

El sábado salió publicado este gráfico en el South China Morning Post sobre la ciudad más caótica, poblada y anárquica de la historia de la humanidad, Kawloon Walled City, un reducto de la China Imperial que con el paso del tiempo se convirtió en una ciudad sin ley y sin ningún tipo de jerarquía sobre sus muros. Infografía homenaje a 13 Rua del Percebe de Francisco Ibáñez. Más adelante postearé cómo hice esta infografía-ilustración.

Last Saturday we publish this graphic at South China Morning Post about the most caothic, inhabitate and anatchy city in all human history. Kowloon Walled City was a Chinese Imperial fortress inside Hong Kong territory, along the time become in an increible bizarre city. Tribute graphic to Francisco Ibáñez´s 13 Rua del Percebe. In a few weeks I will post more deatails about this info-illustration.

Silver medal at SND, "A question of taste"

La semana pasada me enteré que había ganado una medalla de plata por el gráfico "A question of taste" en los premios anuales que celebra la Society for News Design en Nueva York. Aprovecho la ocasión para mostrar el boceto previo del gráfico y el resultado final.

Agradecimientos a Simon Scarr, Steve Case y el departamento de arte del South China Morning Post su ayuda y compañerismo en el trabajo diario.

A week ago I received the good news, that I won a silver medal in the annual prizes from the Society for News Design for the infograhic "A question of taste". I take advantage of the moment to show to the graph with the previous sketch and the final result.
